Great piece of history
Crowd gathered at what can be best called a media op
this is a large crowd with only bobbing heads of hats among those gathered mostly men and quite a few military - Army - Marine hats.
They are obviously listening to a speech given by a soldier - Captain ?
I have little knowledge of the history of war and therefor will only give some assumptions, could it be coalition members during WW I or WW II? The media is quite obvious with cameras on the make shift stage. It seems to be in a rural / country setting - perhaps France ? There is a boy at the stage area with a bicycle
I am sure that any historian even a beginner would be able to piece the settings together
I hope that this proves to be a real gem for some collector, perhaps of rare military memorabilia
(the stance on the man making the speech somehow brings the German Military to mind)
condition is very good - bend in corner as seen in scan
this photo has been stored in hard plastic and covered acid free tissue paper for preservation
sepia - circa 1900s
measures approx. 3" x 4 1/2"
NOT A REPRODUCTION
